COWD PARTNERS WITH CHO & LGU IN CELEBRATING NUTRITION MONTH 2022

 

In celebration of July as Nutrition Month, COWD in collaboration with the City Health Office (CHO) of Cagayan de Oro and Barangay Consolacion, conducted an activity promoting proper nutrition and good hygiene practices by teaching kindergarten children ranging between 4-6 years old together with their parents and/or guardians the importance of proper nutrition and good sanitation practices to one’s health. 

 

            Nutrition Committee experts of the City Health Office, Ms. Sylvia B. Gonzales and Ms. April F. Monsanto, provided a lecture on proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle while Ms. Sharon C. Neri of the Public Relations and Information Division of COWD together with her team demonstrated and led the kids into doing proper handwashing.

 

            Advocating for nutritious food for each child, COWD distributed banana loaf, malunggay meatbuns and milk as snack items while food packs containing various fruits were given as a take-home give-away. Said activity was held at the Consolacion Elementary School on July 7, 2022 and was graciously attended by the local officials particularly the Nutrition Scholars of Barangay Consolacion. Punong Barangay Alexander B. Ligtas expressed his heartfelt gratitude for chosing their barangay as recipient for this year’s Nutrition Month collaboration of COWD and CHO.
