Water Supply System at Lumbia Central School Posted:July 21, 2022 Public Relations
Project hand-over ceremony Lumbia Central School:
Access to adequate water is important in an educational setting. Many schools still have poor supply in terms of water pressure, continuity and quality.
On July 7 the rehabilitated water supply system at Lumbia Central School was officially handed over to the school with speeches, Zumba dances and a lunch. All involved partners were present, including COWD, VEI, Philippine Red Cross (PRC), local government officials, parents and teachers’ association, teachers and the school principal. Since face-to-face classes is yet to be resumed and it’s a holiday season, the only missing group were the kids. The Water for Life funded project encompasses a total of 700m of new pipelines and a new 5 m3 water tank, which will provide clean water to >2,500 children and 70 staff. Now that the water supply is ready, the PRC will start rehabilitating and constructing toilets and sanitation facilities.
