Personnel from COWD's Engineering Department surveyed the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) operated by Mactan Rock Industries, Inc. in Cebu last October 17-18, 2023.
Per evaluation, the creation of a good sized WTP like this one in Cebu is very manageable for COWD in the near future since the cost is quite reasonable, requires a small lot area and would only need about 6 operators. Its source would be surface water from the vast Cagayan de Oro River.
A COWD WTP could be a sustainable way to bolster the water supply without taking out more groundwater.
