INAUGURATION OF COWD’S GENSET PLATFORM AT MACASANDIG

The partnership between COWD and Vitens Evides International (VEI) has yielded another major accomplishment with the inauguration of the Elevated Generator Set Platform located at the Macasandig Booster Station.  This platform was constructed to protect COWD’s generator sets in the event of flooding.  Work on the platform began on August 20, 2020 and was completed on May 4, 2022.  The project cost is PhP 5,418,302.87.

 

Along with the steel platform for gensets, two elevated platforms for chlorine tanks were also constructed as well as genset carts for easy transport of COWD’s generators.

 

The inauguration of the genset steel platform was held on June 7, 2022 at the Macasandig Booster Station.  The COWD Board and top management were present during the event.  Among the guests were City Mayor Oscar S. Moreno, Brgy. Carmen Kagawad Cyril Ranile, Senior Policy Officer of Netherlands Embassy Eileen Rose Vismonte and the Netherlands/VEI contingent: Ridge to Coast, Rain to Tap (R2CR2T) Project Manager Adriaan Ruijmschoot, VEI Regional Manager for Asia Projects Adriaan Mels, RVO point persons for R2CR2T Michiel Slotema and Tika Meijer y Bodisco Massink, pump/metering expert Christian Rix, DMA expert Patrick Egan, and Flor Wassing of the VEI Young Expert Program.
